My first training was in medicine and I have practiced as a GP for most of my working life. I was always interested in the body-mind dynamic and noticed how patients often got better if I merely listened and attuned to them. Subsequently I did a massage training and a three year Energetic Integration course (a post-Reichian body psychotherapy). It was when I discovered Ron Kurtz' book that I felt truly 'at home' so I went to Oregon to learn Hakomi with him. I wasn't disappointed and there I met Donna Martin (Ron's co-trainer) and we have set up a training here in Sheffield which has been amazing. I am now a certified Hakomi practitioner and teacher and have a small practice in Sheffield.
